About

Have supported Oldham since I was 5 yo. My Aunt Linda and I stood behind the goal at the Rochdale Road end. Although it was known as the Hospital End in those wide open terrace days. All the time my Dad sat with his mates in the old stand where the Joe Royle is now.

My Dad was the Pools Promoter for the Supporters Club and he managed the pools agents and also the bingo at the Alexandra Ballroom.

We moved south to Surrey in 1965 and ever since we both went to as many away matches in the south as we could. My brother began coming along when he was old enough. Over 20 years until my Gran died in 1984 we used to visit Oldham frequently and get to a game when we could.

Most embarrassingly as my brother and I had lost our Oldham accents by the early 90's we were denied entry to the home end against Wimbledon and had to go with the (few) away fans!

My Dad passed away in 1991 and I have been to as many games as I could after giving up playing myself. Nowadays, as we are both retired we still try to get to games in the South. It was much easier in the National League!
