The Board of Oldham Athletic Supporters Foundation would like to wish all our fellow members, and the wider fan base, a Happy New Year.
In the weeks since our Annual General Meeting and board member elections, we have been busy getting to know each other, as well as working on cementing a good working relationship with the board and key staff at our beloved club.Your OASF board now comprises of Jim Booth (Chair), Garry Brown, Matt Dean, Mick Harwood, Bradley Knowles, Dom Lowe, Darren Mills, Mark Mills, Maurice Scott and Paul Whitehead. We will shortly update the "Meet the Directors" page on our website with more information on the new members.
We have also continued our regular contact with the OAFC Fan Council, and that relationship is beginning to show some positive results. But the biggest piece of work has been on the continued journey towards converting to a Community Benefit Society (CBS) following the approval vote at our last Annual General Meeting. We have been working with both the Football Supporters Association and Co-Operatives UK, who have both been a tremendous help. We now have the paperwork lodged with the Financial Conduct Authority, and expect to be able to complete the conversion in the coming weeks.
We have an internal planning day coming up where our board members will be involved in a workshop designed to plot the way forward for OASF in the upcoming years. We will keep you updated on the progress, and we will send out a separate update in the coming weeks regarding the conversion to a CBS. We will also keep members updated on meetings with the club board, with as much transparency as possible subject to confidentially clauses within the working agreement between both boards.
Most importantly we are here for you, our fellow members, so if you have any questions, queries or wish us to raise anything with club, please do contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We wish the best for 2023 to all associated with OAFC!
