Joint Message with the Club

Following a request from Greater Manchester Police, we are sharing the following message in partnership with the Club.

We are heading into the final run-in for the season. The support this season, as always, has been outstanding. Latics fans have been turning up in numbers home and away and getting the team over the line in many close contests.

Home Fixtures

However, the unacceptable behaviour of a small minority of fans is negatively affecting the Club and fellow supporters. At recent home games, objects have been thrown onto the pitch and, in some cases, flares set off.

The Club has had several letters from the Football Association over the course of the season and has now been fined. For the final two home games of the season, all bottled drinks bought from the Rochdale Road End will be poured into plastic cups before being served. This means slower queues for all fans.

York City (A)

We have also been asked to reiterate that our ticket allocation has for the fixture at York City on Bank Holiday Monday has sold out. Latics fans should not try to buy tickets for the home sections of the ground. If you do, your ticket will be cancelled without a refund. Similarly, Latics fans in the home sections on matchday will be ejected.

We hope everyone going to York has a safe journey there and back – we know you’ll get behind the team. Let’s support the team from the stands. Fans should stay off the pitch and not bring flares or smoke bombs into the ground. These are both criminal offences and can lead to football banning orders.
