Kit Survey Results

On 1 August, we shared a survey on social media seeking views on new kits. We received 142 responses. OASF board member Paul Prendergast has pulled together a report which brings together conclusions from the survey with additional research. We have shared Paul's report with the Club and have attached the full report below, with an excerpt of the conclusion.

Conclusion

This document summarizes the results of a limited fan survey regarding the club's football kits, highlighting widespread dissatisfaction with kit pricing, quality, and frequency of releases. Most fans prefer a blue home kit with tangerine trim, a distinct tangerine away shirt, and a more neutral third kit, but many feel overwhelmed by the yearly introduction of three kits. There is a consensus for a more sustainable and financially responsible kit release strategy, such as alternating the introduction of away and third kits. The findings support external research indicating that frequent kit releases have minimal financial benefit at lower league levels and contribute to fan fatigue and unsold inventory.

Moving forward we need a larger sample of responses. OASF could look to speaking to fans directly before and after Home Games. With a physical ‘tick’ survey. OASF was pleased to be involved in the recent kit focus group consultation – especially after the issues with this season’s design and perceived poor quality of the original shirt.
